PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, Oct 2011

PFDC (Pakistan Fashion design Council) is certainly the most reputed Fashion Council of the gazillion Fashion Councils claiming to be the  torchbearers of Pakistan’s Fashion Industry and they have proved their unparalleled dominance with staging of its 4th fashion Week since its establishment, a first for any fashion council in Pakistan. Although the council is mainly Lahore based, the council flexed its wing wider  this time by organizing the week in Karachi. 24 shows were held over the span of four days from 20-23rd October, 2011  with 23 individual shows with finale being a grand charity show for red cross featuring designs from a number of prominent designers.

Some of the notables showing this year were HSY, Kamiar Rokhni, Ammar Belal, Maria B, Nickie and Nina, Khaadi (Shamoon Sultan) and Fnk Asia (Huma Adnan).

As usual, the show had its fair share of hits and misses in terms of fashion. However, organization was at its very best with PR firm Lotus at the helm of affairs.

Watch out this space for more of PFDC fashion week and individual reviews of the collections.

  1. A Pakistani Boy says:

Add pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And an individual post for every collection and your views won’t hurt either. Or maybe four posts on the four days?

If you do use the images credit must please be given to Faisal Farooqui @Dragonfly for each image 🙂
