Ali Xeeshan is the king of OTT. He went all the way with this collection. A flurry of zany looks in fabrics ranging from banarsi and velvet to chiffon and jamavaar. Ali’s collection was loud and OTT but it was well done. He went all the way and didn’t sjpw any retraint, it was a bit heavy but he has such a rich taste and an eye for beauty that not once did it go wayward. Every look had a character of its own and was a show stopper in itself.
His show was all about the traditional western eastern aesthetic with beautiful tilla and gotta work. Show started with initial few models essaying a traditional Hindu wedding replete with tikka and all . As the show progressed, models wearing ankle length shirts, saris and ghararas in most traditional of the colours, red and green walked out. His menswear looks were equally notes worthy, from traditional mens kurtas to western cut blazer, he brought it all out.
Highlights of his show were the looks that Cybil and Faiza Ansari were sporting and the colourfully insane men’s pagris stood out too.
