How often do you come across looks on international runways that you wish you had available locally. And even if those products available locally, how many can actually spend $2000 on a trench coat, probably not many.
So, here are a bunch of looks from runways of Paris, Milan, London and New York from menswear showcases of this year that you can adopt locally by the help of high-street brands and local retailers.
Look 1 – Pants with patches:
Above pics are from Ernest Alexander, Fall/ Winter 2014 show and they are definitely one of my my favourite pieces from all menswear shows. Pants are such a basic wardrobe item that provide you little room to experiment, at the most you can play with colour and fabric. But this is such a fresh take on pants, the patches are so stylish.
I couldn’t get this look out of my mind so when I saw Bareeze Man show at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, I was absolutely ecstatic to spot a variation of these pants in their lineup. Here’s what I am talking about:
I have written about my love for Bareeze Man and these pants before as well. Although, there were many covetable pieces in Bareeze Man’s show, this is one item that I consider absolutely must-have.
Look 2 – The travel bag:
Another item that caught my fancy was this travel/gym bag by Jack Spade. It’s manly, it’s handy and above all stylish. so one can say it meets all requirement o a good men’s item.
And the good news is one can get a quite similar version of this bag from one of the best local high-street brands, Stoneage.
Stoneage Canvas Shoulder Bag – Buy here.
Stoneage bag comes at a price tag of Rs. 3490 in two very cool shades, the material is a bit different than Jack Spade’s version but it’s equally cool and sleek.
Look 3 – Suede Loafer:
In case you dont already know, suede and loafers are the new cool in menswear shoe domain. And above two loafers by Louis Freeman Paris & Michael Bastain are the best of many that walked down the runway.
You can get local versions of daraz.pk as following:
Top Left – Tudor Blue by Turk & Fillmore London. Buy here.
Top Right – Suede moccasins by The Leather Craft. Buy here.
Bottom – Boardback Blue by Turk & Fillmore London. Buy here.
Accessible and just as stylish.
Look 5 – Scarf beneath the suit:
This one is the easiest and most attainable of all the above looks. Peeking scarf beneath the suits jacket is a look that has been going around for quite some time and I was more than delighted to see it in it’s full glory at republic by Omar Farooq’s collection display at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week.
This look is so gettable, all you need is a silk scarf (about 2-3 ft long) and your good old suit/jacket but make sure scarf’s print stands out and compliments the suit like we can see in above pictures from Republic show.
